The 2007 Lowcountry Buddy Walk from the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry will take place in Etiwan Park on Daniel Island.
This is the 4th Annual Buddy Walk as the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry continues their efforts to help families dealing with Down Syndrome.
Down Syndrome is a disorder which varies widely from person to person. The condition stems from a chromosome disorder which can delay intellectual, lingual, and physical development and the most vexing thing is that the actual causes of Down Syndrome remain a mystery. There is no method for prevention and there is still no cure.
This will be a fun afternoon including hot dogs from the Knights of Columbus, snow cones and other snacks provided by local businesses, a tee-shirt that you get with registration, face painting, as well as a newfound appreciation for the people who continue to live with Down Syndrome. Registration begins at 2PM on the 30th and the one mile fun walk starts at 3PM at Etiwan Park on Daniel Island and if you’d like more information you can register at http://buddywalk.kintera.org/lowcountry or you can email your questions to buddywalk@hometelecom.com or feel free to call 843-553-DSAL and leave a message!
