It Really Is a Great Time To Buy
on August 17th, 2009 at 12:13 amReal Estate prices are near a six-year low, which makes this possibly the best time to invest. Home prices haven’t been this low since 2003. This news has reached many foreign firms as well. Overseas companies are looking at the U.S in a new light, calling our real estate crisis, “the new emerging market.”
It has often been said, “Invest when the market is bad, sell when the market is good.” This type of strategy is exactly the opposite of what most people actually do. But the ones who want to be profitable follow this strategy. Following this strategy allows you, the investor, to profit from the up-and-down cyclical market patterns. We’re currently experiencing the downside of a major trough.
Now I’m not clairvoyant, and I cannot tell you when we’ll hit rock bottom, but we’re getting pretty close. International property vultures are circling to pick up the leftovers in the U.S. property arena. Is this the best opportunity to make money in real estate in 20 years?
House prices fell 18 percent in April in S&P’s 10 and 20 city indices. Commercial property has gone down 20 percent and will probably continue to slide even lower.
Most economists and investment experts feel that the end of the meltdown is nearing. Some even feel that now is the best opportunity in the past 20 years to make money in real estate.
Recent numbers have shown that the housing decline is beginning to stabilize. Confidence in the market is slowly rising and the end of this recession may finally be here. Furthermore, mortgage rates are extremely low making those large home loans much more affordable than ever.
If you’ve been contemplating buying a new home, I urge you to do a little more research and take advantage of this opportunity. I’m not an expert by any means, but I know a good opportunity when I see one.
