A new apartment complex is being built at the Cainhoy Plantation property, the first private investment to break ground on the property. The Village at Point Hope, a 274-unit community built by The Spectrum Cos., broke ground earlier this month. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2018. Leasing for the apartments is expected to begin next spring.

Apartment units at the complex will range from studios to three-bedroom units, and the community will include a fitness center, pool, courtyard and grilling area. “Spectrum’s mission is to improve lives by creating special places, and the Village at Point Hope will do just that,” said Steve McClure, COO of Spectrum.

Spectrum, based in Charlotte, previously developed the Simmons Park and Talison Row apartment communities on Daniel Island. (SC Biz News)
