Groundbreaking and construction of the Village at Point Hope, a 274-unit community has begun. It is the first private investment in the Cainhoy Plantation property, a 9,000-acre master-planned community on the Cainhoy Peninsula.

Located near Daniel Island, the Cainhoy Plantation property will soon become home to a mix of residential, retail and commercial development that has been called “the last undeveloped borough in Charleston.” The land is part of the Guggenheim Partners and Guggenheim Family Holdings and under the same management overseeing the Daniel Island development.

The Village at Point Hope will include a fitness center and clubhouse, salt water pool, courtyard and grilling area. Apartments will range from studios to three bedrooms and offer custom-cabinets, quartz counter tops and luxury wood-look flooring at lower leasing rates than similarly appointed properties in Charleston and Mount Pleasant. The community is within walking distance of a future grocery-anchored shopping center.

Leasing is expected to begin in Spring of 2018, with completion projected for Fall 2018. The Cainhoy property is bordered by the Wando River, two creeks, and 22 miles of saltwater and marsh shoreline.
